Riffing on Buckminster Fuller

How true in legal services:

You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.
— Buckminster Fuller

Where are the new models in law?  Those that make old models obsolete?

The ONE new model that has emerged (beyond a few percent of market share) is the corporate insourcing model, i.e. the legal department.  But it never made the other models obsolete as it was limited in its innovation and improvement.  Now the legal department expansion has also largely run its course and is at risk of becoming obsolete.
